The week before Christmas we were busy trying to finish up the odds and ends for Christmas, trying to wrap presents, finish up shopping, and all that one must do to be prepared for Christmas day. We had to be done early because we were going to Disneyland on the 21st with all of Rex's family.
Saturday, the 20th, was our annual Hardy Party with all the extended family.
The next day we all attended Sacrament meeting in our own wards and then headed out to Disneyland. As we headed on I-15, the traffic was awful. It took us nearly a whole hour or so to go a couple of miles. We went to Disneyland on Monday and it was pouring rain until early afternoon. Tuesday we took in California Adventure and did various activities there. All in all we all had a very fun time. It was fun to be with family and enjoy the magic of Disneyland for a short few days.
(This picture shows some ladies in the Holiday parade. When Mason saw them skating around he said, "Mom, I want to be a man one of those and skate in my pajamas.")
On Christmas Eve we drove home, stopping at Denny's to eat a non-traditional Christmas Eve dinner (there were 31 of us - would you have liked to be our waitress?)
That night we settled in at home and semi unpacked our bags and got ready for Santa's annual visit.
Christmas morning we were all exhausted. The kids started stirring about 8:00 and it wasn't until about 9:00 that we were actually ready to go see what Santa brought. The two oldest got bikes and the baby got a push along toy. They got other odds and ends in their stockings and as wrapped gifts. The best thing we got as a family is a new entertainment center/t.v. stand. How did Santa know we were wanting a new one:)? That afternoon we decided to head to Rex's family's and see everyone on Christmas Day. It was a very fun and relaxing day.
On Friday, the 26th, we took down the Christmas tree, the lights on the house outside, and most of the decor because on Saturday we were headed out of town ... again ... to go to my family's. Friday was a bit stressful for me because I was trying to get all the laundry done that we had worn to California and repack for a colder climate. Rex was trying to get all the decorations put away. We didn't want to come home after New Year's and have to take down Christmas decorations.
Saturday we got up and left around 11:30. We got to my parents later that evening and just relaxed. The next day we went to church and then came home and opened Christmas presents from them. The best thing my brother and sister, and Rex and I got from my mom and dad are some gorilla suits. Yes...gorilla suits for Halloween. I couldn't believe it when we opened the boxes. I just started laughing. My mom had bought them a few months back at a garage sale for less than $5.00 each. So, any guesses what we're going to be this year for Halloween? Well, we may have to rethink that...we have three small children who may be a little frightened of their mom and dad.
We spent the whole week there. We shopped (my hubby's Favorite hobby:0), stayed up late, played games, and Rex went to a B-ball game with my brother and sister. We just enjoyed being with family again. On New Year's Eve we played games at my parents and ate pizza and soda pop and rang in the new year.
We came home on Friday the 2nd. It felt REALLY good to be home. We were also so glad we didn't have to take down all the Christmas decorations.
It makes me tired just trying to remember all the details of these past weeks. It doesn't sound like we were that busy...just having fun, but we were all so tired. The boys were off their schedules and we were ready to get back to some normalcy. Home sweet Home. We're thankful to have a place which we call home.
We hope you all had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year! We wish everyone all the best this coming year.

Kim, somehow I missed this post the first time. Loved hearing about your holiday adventures!
That was crazy! I'm kind of glad all our family lives here, so we don't have to go anywhere. It can be boring though. Glad your holidays were fun!
How fun!! I love spending time with family! Unfortunately, Jesse had to work Christmas day so we ended up opening gifts at 2:30 in the morning! It was fun though! Ammon must have had the sleepy sillies because he was EVERYWHERE and in EVERYTHING with the best laugh ever. It was a riot! Needless to say, we were back in bed after family prayer with Dad.
Geez, you guys have been busy! I cannot believe you could do so much in such a short period of time! It all looked so fun! It looked like you had a fabulous Christmas!
