600 words

Yesterday Evan came home from school SO excited because he got a small little trophy that has his name on it and says "600 words" on the back. His teacher tested him and he knows that many words by sight - if not more. He also got a coupon from Jason's Deli because he knows that many words.

He's a great student and hard worker. He brings home books to read and answers questions about the books on a homework paper .

Evan's a great kid!!! We love him so much and are so proud of him for working so hard in school and all the time.

I wanted to let you know that Jesse is color blind. He has trouble with reds, greens, and browns. When he was in elementary school he had an pair of shorts and a shirt he wore all the time. I thought it was kind of odd that he repeatedly wore that combination. I would tell him that he had other things to wear, but he continued to wear that same pair. Time went by and much later we were reminiscing and I reminded him of those shorts and that shirt he ALWAYS wore. He said, "it was the only thing I had that I was sure matched".
Oh my gosh I felt so bad - I knew he was color blind but I never thought about things like choosing clothes. Him being a boy I never thought stuff like that would affect him.
Oh and when he was dating Stephanie he wanted to buy her some roses for Valentines Day. He called me from the store and I asked him if there was any roses there and he said, "they have some brown ones." I cracked up - he can't see red so I had to tell him to buy the brown ones - just be sure they looked fresh. :0)
