Rex and I went on a date on Friday and saw the new Disney release "UP". It was darn near the cutest movie I've seen in a LOOOOONG time. That is quite something for me to say because I am picky when it comes to movies. Especially those rated PG and geared toward children.
I didn't hear any inuendo-words or phrases that were inappropriate like so many other movies include. Case-in-point: Monsters vs Aliens. I did not like this movie for a number of reasons:
In the movie "UP", I absolutely fell in love with the little kid, Russell, who is a boy scout and is trying to earn his 'helping the elderly' merit badge. He stole my heart with so many of the cute ways about him and the things he did or said that just reminded me of little kids in general. I laughed out loud many times which is rare for me in a movie theater.
I told Rex that if we didn't already have a Russell in the family (a little cousin), that would be the name of our next boy.
I definitely recommend this movie for all ages. I did not hear one word or sentence that I felt they put in for 'adults-to-get-but-kids-won't'. For that reason, I will buy this movie when it comes out on DVD - unlike Monsters vs Aliens.
Thank you DISNEY for making a movie that is as good as your older releases! Kudos to you from me.

- I thought it was poor judgement on the producers part to portray the San Francisco bridge being destroyed.
- There were several (at least 3-4) times they used words or phrases that sounded to me like other words or phrases not to my liking.
- They showed one character sitting on a copy machine xeroxing a certain body part (very inappropriate for little ones)
- And last but not least, I just thought it was a dumb movie.

I whole-heartedly agree with your assessment! I found UP to be utterly charming and one that I will add to my DVD collection (and I don't do that very often these days). I thought it equally was good for kids AND adults.
I love that you are already thinking about what you're naming your 4th boy!! I did that too!
I haven't see UP, so maybe I'll have to take my boys on a date! Thanks for the recommendation! I didn't care for Monsters VS Aliens much...I told Brandon that I won't buy it. I think the naughty stuff probably goes over the kids heads at this age...I hope!
Well, Kim, that is a great review and coming from you I believe it! I'm excited to see it now-- you're awesome!!!
