Both Evan and Mason played soccer this fall. We were fortunate this year that their ages allowed them to both play on the same team. They both had a lot of fun and improved so much from last year. Mason was a great goalie and took great satisfaction in getting a running start and kicking the ball really hard. Evan has really learned how to handle and dribble the ball and was able to score quite a few goals for their team this season. Way to go boys! We are so proud of you!

Out of the Mouths of Babes
Cole calls the sun 'nus', Evan is Ev, Mason is Nace, Ty is Ty, and Paige is usually beebee or Peej. (9-17-12)
Ty calls popcorn 'pockporn' (9-16-12)
Evan and Mason both say that soda pop is "spicy". (12-12-09)
I bought some new toothpaste for Evan and Mason. Tonight when Mason used it he said to me, "Mom, this toothpaste spices my tongue." (12-12-09)
Ty is talking so much more now. Whenever he sees a dog he says the woofing sound. When he sees a cat he says 'mauw, mauw.' Just tonight I got him to say 'titty' for kitty. (11/16/09)
Today when Rex was combing Mason's hair for church he told Rex he wanted a 'crack' in his hair (a part). (8/23/09)
A few months ago as we were driving in the car, Mason out of the blue says "Mom, I love Uncle Dru." Me: "Why do you love Uncle Dru?" Mason: "Because he holds me tight and he has the spirit." (7/15/09)
Overheard from the bathroom: Mason: Hey Dad, My bum is like a gun. It shoots poop out. (7/1/09)
Tonight in the car we were listening to Disney music and when Ariel from the Little Mermaid finished her song, Evan said to me, "She sounds like you, Mom". I'm so glad I sound so beautiful to my son. (3/6/09)
When Mason went to my parent's house all by himself sometime before Christmas, my mom and dad took him to the hospital to see Grandpa Allred. On the ride there he asked, (note, this is how it sounds with his little lisp) 'Ith Gwampa Allwed havin' a baby?' (Is Grandpa Allred having a baby?). The only time he has been to see someone in the hospital is when Ty was born and he and Evan came to see us. (3/7/09)
Tonight our good friends Forrest and Kaarina watched our boys while we went to a fireside. Evan and Mason absolutely ADORE them. They get so excited when they know we are going to see them. So tonight was even better because they were BABYSITTING for us. In Mason's bedtime prayer (it was the first prayer he did ALL BY HIMSELF - no help from us) I couldn't understand any of his words (he mumbles them under his breath) but I did understand 'Forest and Kaarina'. I'm not sure if he was thankful for them or that they came to babysit, or that they built a fort with them but they were 'prayed over' tonight. (3/15/09)
When Mason has a bath he always has to watch the 'windmill' when the water is draining. (3/18/09)
The other day Mason was asking, again, about Grandpa Allred dying. He said grandpa was like the ants in the ground. I explained the whole casket and burial again to him and he said, 'Grandpa's like a treasure and his casket is like a treasure box.' (May 5, 2009)
