We just got back from a wonderful family vacation in San Diego over Halloween weekend. Evan had 5 days off from school - so we decided it would be a great time to take a vacation. We traveled down to San Diego on Friday and returned home the following Tuesday. While there we spent a couple of days at Sea World, saw the new Mormon Battalion Visitor Center, visited the grounds of the San Diego Temple and most of all enjoyed the wonderful resort that we stayed at.

Evan got to model the Mormon Battalion soldier gear for the group because he had a November birthday.

We stayed at the best place while in San Diego. It was called Paradise Point Resort and it was on the island in Mission Bay. We were less than a mile from Sea World and we had beaches and ocean all around us. The rooms spread out throughout the resort that had lush landscaping, fountains, ducks, swimming pools, and a lot of sandy beaches to walk on. Our room opened up onto a beautiful lawn area surrounded by trees, fountains, and a stream. The boys had so much fun just playing in the grassy area out the sliding back door to our room. We also had fun playing on the beach and wading in the water. What a fun place.
Sign at the entrance to our resort. Notice the "logo" flower. These flowers were all over the grounds.

Kim took this great picture of the "logo" flower.

The boys discovered this stream just as we were ready to check out of our room. Needless to say we stayed an extra hour or longer so the boys could play in the stream. I was amazed that we hadn't discovered this stream earlier in our stay as it was only about 30 feet from the back patio to our room. However, it was up on a lushly vegetated hillside and the sound of the stream was disguised by a fountain in a nearby lagoon.
